October Favourites

Ok it may be November (just!) but here are my fave things from October.

If you read my birthday wish list you’d know that I really wanted a Fuji Instax Mini 8 and luckily, I got one! I know I said I had wanted blue but I got one in yellow and it’s so cute! It takes credit card sized Polaroids that would fit perfectly in a purse. I also got given a photo album which is designed specifically for the Instax mini 8 pics so I won’t lose my pictures. There are a number of settings on the camera so you can take a picture in low light if you wish rather than needing bright sunlight to get a decent image.

With the recent decline in weather and the chilly mornings I have had to take a bit more care of my skin. The Naoby calming face toner I got in a recent Glossybox is the ideal product to take my makeup off in the evenings. It feels quite soothing on the skin and leaves my face feeling really clean. I tend to also give my face a quick wipe with this in the mornings before I apply my makeup just to ensure my skin is nice and clear.

Needless to say; I love soap & glory which I’m sure you’ll all know by now! I got the Daily Youth 365 Soap & Glory moisturiser when I picked up their Night Flight cream as I wanted two separate moisturisers; one for day and one for night. Similarly to the Night Flight one, The Daily Youth smells like apricot yoghurt and I could quite happily sniff it all day long (yes, I know that’s a bit weird haha). This moisturiser is the perfect cream to use during the day as it isn’t too heavy bu still provides you with long lasting hydration which is essential during the colder months. I love The Daily Youth and once I run out I’ll definitely be buying some more!

Next up: a couple of bits from New Look. I have nowhere to hang the unicorn plaque really but I just couldn’t resist! It’s so cute and it was only a couple of quid! Until I eventually get round to decorating my room I’ll just hang it on my door handle.

I’d read a couple of reviews about the Pure Colour range from New Look and decided to try out a few bits. I got a Velvet Matte Lip Crayon which was £3.99 and a lip liner pencil which I think was £1.99. Both are a dark red colour (as you can see from the swatches on my hand) which is perfect for this time of year. I’ve only recently got into applying lip liner before lipstick but these two go perfectly together. I recently wore them to my sister’s 18th and I was really impressed that they stayed put all night. The formula of the lip crayon was quite creamy and smooth which felt nice on the lips and luckily it didn’t dry them out! I’ll definitely be getting some more products from the Pure Colour range as they’re so affordable and decent quality.

Barry M Nail Paint in Cappuccino and this dark blue/black Avon Gel Finish nail enamel (I can’t remember the exact name and its worn off the bottle) were my ‘go to’ colours this month. The soft, muted purple tones of Cappuccino are perfect for this time of year and the colour goes with pretty much everything! The dark blue Avon Gel Finish was perfect towards the end of the month for Halloween. I didn’t go out/dress up this year but I enjoyed wearing darker nails than I’d normally go for. The Gel Finish didn’t last as long as I had hoped, it chipped the first day I wore it despite applying a base & top coat. As always, Barry M Nail Paint didn’t disappoint and stayed chip free for 5 days.

This may seem a bit random but it’s definitely the time of year where you need a cosy pair of slippers. This pug pair were a present from Austin last year and I think they’re from Asos (not 100% sure though so don’t quote me on that!) they’re really soft & comfy and they keep my feet nice and toasty. I’ve been wearing them basically non-stop when I’m not at work!

I’ve had the Opalite choker from Shop Moonchild for a couple of months but the original velvet necklace it was on broke after a week or so of having it so I didn’t wear it for a while. I found the black necklace it’s now on whilst cleaning out my room and thought it would be perfect for the pendant. I’m really into chokers and the grungey kinda vibe at the moment so I have been wearing this quite a lot. I can’t remember exactly how much it was but it was definitely less than £10 which is a reasonable price.

Last but not least is this beaut perfume. The Ghost Deep Night perfume was a birthday gift from my parents and I love it. It’s described as being a ‘floral, fruity fragrance’ and is a blend of apricot, vanilla and peach. It smells absolutely devine and I cannot get enough of it. It’s perfect for every day wear and last pretty long as well!

What have you guys been loving this month? Let me know in the comments.
