A couple of weeks ago I saw Boots tweet that they were going to be stocking NYX Liquid Suede lip products. They posted a link where you could sign up to be notified when the Liquid Suede went on sale, which of course I signed up to.
When I got the email saying they had gone on sale I went straight to Boots and spent about 20 minutes trying to decide what colours to get! In the end I settled on Cherry Skies, Amethyst and Tea & Cookies.
Cherry Skies is a deep, dark red, Amethyst a dark purple and Tea & Cookies is like a nudey pink.
I quite like the packaging, especially the top as it has like a black diamond type thing on the top. It’s really hard to describe so see here:
When applying the Liquid Suede i immediately noticed that the formula is quite creamy and glides easily onto the lips. The shape of applicator makes it really easy to apply without getting in a mess. As I’ve said before, I find it difficult to apply lip products unless it’s in the shape of a crayon but I didn’t really struggle with these at all which is a bonus. I’m not sure why I usually struggle, maybe I just have oddly shaped lips!
The Liquid Suede lipstick takes quite a while to dry and even after a couple of hours it doesn’t dry completely, it seems to remain tacky for quite a while. Despite this though, the product wasn’t too sticky on the lips and only a minimal amount transferred when I was drinking, eating etc. Cherry Skies even stayed put whilst I was brushing my teeth which is a pretty big achievement!
The product isn’t drying at all which I’m really surprised about. I always assume that liquid products will dry your lips out and make them really flakey once they dry but this just isn’t the case with the Liquid Suede.
Overall I am really, really pleased with the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks as they are a really reasonable price (£6.50 each), they last for ages and the colour range is really good. My favourite out of the colours I got is probably Tea & Cookies as it’s the most wearable. I absolutely love Amethyst but probably won’t wear it a lot. I don’t think I can really pull off purple lips unless the rest of my make up is really dramatic which, on a day to day basis, it won’t be.
I THINK (not 100% sure) that there are 12 shades in the range. There are purples, reds, pinks and even a grey! I will probably end up getting a couple more of these as they are great products for a great price.
Have you tried any of the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks? Let me know in the comments!
