Ever since I tried the Liquid Suede Lipsticks by NYX I have been really keen to try some more of their lip products. I’ve added numerous different lip pencils, glosses and lipsticks to my basket many a time but I would just leave them sitting there. I finally gave in (despite being on a spending ban, oops) and decided to order a couple of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams which were £5.99 each (available from Boots).

After spending forever looking at the swatches, I finally decided on the shades Cannes and Prague. Cannes is a pinky nude and Prague is kinda magenta; it’s a lot more pink than I’d usually go for but I think it looks alright.  My first impressions of the Soft Matte Lip Creams were pretty good. I really like the small, angled applicator which made it super easy to apply the product precisely. The formula is absolutely amazing too as it just glides onto your lips. It feels quite soft and buttery, which makes a nice change to other matte products which can leave your lips really dry. It also smells really nice which is a bonus.

I was pretty impressed with how well the product stayed on. It didn’t last all day but it did however, last a couple of hours before needing to be reapplied. I think the best thing about the Soft Matte Lip Creams is that they don’t flake off like most matte products, they tend to just slowly fade throughout the day which can easily be rectified with a quick touch up.

Overall, if you’re looking for a cheap, moisturising lip product which stays put for a couple of hours then this is the perfect product for you. If you want something that will last all day with no touch ups required then I would recommend something like Limecrime Velvetines or Jeffree Star’s Lip Velour which are a little more pricey but they do last all day.
