I have seen so many posts flying around about how people will be improving themselves this year (how scary is it that we’re in 2016?!) and I think it’s great that people are really positive about the year ahead. Goals help people feel determined and New Year’s Resolutions always seem like such a great way of setting yourself goals for the year. Except if you’re me.
I guess I am one of those people that is guilty of focusing on the negative things that happen in their lives and I tend to forget about all the good things that have happened. I decided that in order to be a happier person I needed to start focusing on the good things that have happened to me and once I began to think like that I started to see that the highs of 2015 definitely out weighed the lows. I wanted to write a post that focuses on the good so that I can look back and remind myself of the awesome experiences I have had.
I was feeling really positive about Blogmas towards the end of November; I had loads of post ideas and I felt determined to actually post every day. I had loads and loads of motivation, along came December and BAM all motivation was gone.
I have painted nails all year round and in all honesty I do sometimes get a bit bored of doing them. There is one time of year that I actually enjoy doing them and that is in the lead up to Christmas! I am not normally a huge lover of glitter but this all seems to change around Christmas time where I just can’t get enough of the stuff. It’s like my brain suddenly thinks ‘ooh Christmas, must coat myself in copious amounts of glitter!’. Does anyone else get this? Please tell me that it’s not just me!
If you read yesterday’s blog post you’ll know that I am a huge fan of Boots when it comes to buying gifts. Secret Santa at work is difficult enough when you get given a woman you barely know never mind when you pull a guys name out the hat! I struggle so much with buying gifts for guys so after scouring pages upon pages of gift sets on boots I came across a few things that I thought would do quite nicely!
Secret Santa is always one of those love/hate things. On one hand it is so much fun seeing people open gifts and having no idea who they are from but on the other, trying to find a gift can be stressful. I haven’t been at the place I work for that long so I know I’ll probably struggle with what to get for my secret Santa.
Trying to think of things I would like for Christmas was quite hard in all honesty. Mainly because if I see something I like I’ll normally just buy it. Probably the reason I’m skint all the time but what is money for if not for spending?! I was having a browse on a few different sites looking for gifts when a couple of things caught my eye.
Just like yesterday’s post, all of today’s stocking filler ideas are from New Look. I know I say it all the time but New Look are awesome. Cheap, decent items that are bloody adorable. What more could you want? The most expensive items on this list are the hot water bottle and the LED sign which if I remember correctly were £9.99 each.
I always find it difficult finding Christmas presents for male relatives/boyfriends etc. Recently I was having a look for some boots on New Look when I thought I’d have a quick look at the men’s stuff. I was pretty impressed with the gift ideas; they have loads of stocking fillers so I thought I’d put together my favourite 8 items for under £10.
